Infusion Spotlight: Lazy Afternoon Five Ways

Summer’s here and it’s about time we celebrate with a new and refreshing infusion! Lazy Afternoon is inspired by the magical time between hot summer days and cool summer evenings. It’s time to turn off your notifications, grab your latest binge read, and make yourself a delicious cocktail infused with juicy and sweet blackberries, tart and bright lemons, and garden-fresh basil. Let’s kick off this season with some recipes we’re loving! 

Smash the Basil

2 ounces Lazy Afternoon-infused vodka
.5 oz lemon juice
.5 oz lime juice
.5 oz simple syrup
4 fresh basil leaves, plus more for a garnish

Add the basil leaves to a cocktail shaker and gently muddle 4 to 5 times. Add the remaining ingredients to the cocktail shake filled with ice and shake until cold. Strain into a coupe glass and garnish with a fresh basil leaf.

Gold Rush

2 oz Lazy Afternoon-infused whiskey
1 oz lemon juice⁣
.75 oz honey syrup⁣*

⁣Add all ingredients into a shaker filled with ice and shake for 30 seconds. Strain into a stemmed glass and enjoy!⁣

*Honey syrup is delicious and easy to make at home! Add 1/2 cup honey and 1/2 cup water to a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until blended and strain into a jar with a tight sealing lid. 

Blackberry Basil Gin Fizz

2 oz Lazy Afternoon-infused gin⁣
1 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice⁣
1 oz simple syrup⁣
1 egg white⁣
Club soda to top⁣

Shake first four ingredients without ice for 15 seconds. Add ice, shake again until chilled and strain into a rocks glass. Top with chilled club soda, watch the fizz settle and enjoy this amazing, refreshing bev!⁣

Herb Garden

2 oz Lazy Afternoon-infused rum⁣
.5 oz fresh lemon juice⁣
.5 oz simple syrup⁣
5–8 basil leaves, muddled⁣
Soda water to top⁣
Basil leaves for garnish⁣

Muddle basil leaves and simple syrup at the bottom of a highball glass. Add ice, lemon juice, and infused rum, then top with soda water. Stir until basil is dispersed throughout the drink and garnish with a couple more leaves of fresh basil. This one’s herbal, refreshing, and delicious.

Blackberry Gumdrop

2 oz Lazy Afternoon-infused gin
.25 oz Chambord
.25 ​crème de violette
.5 lemon juice
Lemon peel for garnish

Add first four ingredients to a shaker filled with ice and shake well. Strain into a cocktail glass. Grab your lemon peel, twist, run it over the rim, and drape it over the edge of the glass. This one’s a treat, folks!
